Pyramid Island Wedding Jasper

This Pyramid Island Wedding in Jasper National Park was such a beautiful day. We first met Kalyssa and Garret at Kalyssa’s brothers wedding in Waterton Lakes National Park last year, which we were lucky enough to photograph. Keeping up with the family tradition, Kalyssa and Garret chose to get married in the mountains! They wanted somewhere accessible and beautiful for an intimate ceremony and we knew exactly where to suggest. Pyramid Island is only a short drive from the main town of Jasper but once you get there you feel like you are completely isolated. Set out on Pyramid Lake with a beautiful wooden bridge connecting the island, it makes an incredible natural aisle. Once you are on the island there are 360 degree views of the surrounding peaks including the incredible Pyramid Mountain.

Their Story

Kalyssa and Garret planned one of the nicest intimate weddings we have had the pleasure to photograph. Surrounded by their closest family and friends in one of the most amazing locations in Canada. The day began with everyone getting ready. Kalyssa was in town with her family and nephews and Garret in the campground in his trailer. These two are from Saskatchewan and take trips out to the mountains whenever they can. They traveled out in their trailer for the wedding and were staying the week to hike, camp and enjoy summer in the mountains. We agreed this was the perfect way to honeymoon! After their beautiful ceremony on the island we took some photos by the lake to take advantage of the incredible setting. We then went for a little hike to one of our favourite view points in Jasper. It was so nice to spend the day with these two and their lovely families. We are so grateful to have created these memories of them in the mountains and we hope you enjoy a look into the day!
